Breast implant exchange can be for many different reasons. Some patient desire different size implants while others need a change in the position of their implants. At Sugar Land Face and Body Plastic Surgery, our implant exchange surgeon, Dr. Eric Humble will meet with you in consultation to determine your goals. Because implant exchange encompasses a broad range of surgical options a free consultation is offered to discuss your personal needs and desires.

Before your breast implant exchange:

During your consultation, Dr. Humble will discuss with you your surgical options which are based on your prior surgery and current implant issues. He will discuss the different incisions, the size and type implants available, and the pros and cons to each choice. With your input an appropriate surgical plan will be formulated that is unique to your individual circumstances.

Breast implant exchange surgery:

Breast Implant exchange surgery is performed in a certified surgical center under general anesthesia. The surgery typically takes a couple of hours and patients are sent home the same day. No drains are used.

Breast implant exchange recovery:

Post surgical discomfort is managed with oral pain medication and close follow up will be performed by Dr. Humble. No sutures have to be removed since the sutures typically will be absorbable.

Patients typically return to work a week after their operation and aerobic exercise can be restarted one month after surgery.
