Contact Dermatitis

Contact Dermatitis Treatment in Katy, Sugar Land, and Houston, Texas

Contact dermatitis is a group of skin conditions in which the skin is inflamed by an allergen (allergic) or an irritant (irritant type)

When the barrier function of the skin is compromised, small substances called sensitizers or irritants (like alcohols, acids, alkaline substances) can induce significant inflammation and make an area of the skin itchy and uncomfortable.

Hand dermatitis, eyelid dermatitis and special patterns of eczema can often be related to frequent exposure to an allergen or a sensitizer.

At Houston Dermatology and Plastic Surgery your provider will perform an exhaustive review of potential causes and will discuss one or multiple treatment options.

We also perform allergy patch testing to further pinpoint potential causes of repetitive rashes related to substances found in products of daily use.

Do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to learn more about this condition.

Our first visit to Dr. Cedeno Laurent was because my son had a rash and our regular dermatologist wasn’t available. After our first visit, he became our family dermatologist. He’s very courteous and explains your condition in a way that you can understand. He makes us feel very comfortable and their staff is great too.
